Web3 or Web 3.0 is an idea about putting the whole “World Wide Web” into “Blockchain”. Web3 is a decentralized and secure concept where people have their own ownership of their presence on the internet.Web3.0 started getting recognised after the bitcoin started popularizing.
Web 1.0 was the first web launched by Tim Berners Lee , where people only could put information online in a static webpage in a decentralized way. Web 2.0 was invented around 2004 when big tech companies like google and facebook started to grow. This was called social web where users could generate content, ease to use and people could interact with each other.. It was based around the idea of “The web as platform”.
Web 3.0 will be heavily based on Blockchains, such as various cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Some have expressed the notion that Web3 could improve data, security scalability and privacy beyond what is currently possible with Web 2.0 platforms.
Web 3.0 will be highly influnced by apps what will be called “Dapps = Decentralized Apps” and people can share their information or currency through this app without any middle man (Big tech corporate or Government). The front-end of Web 3.0 application may not look different at first but the back-end will be much different then previous ones.
Is web 3.0 just hype or bs or scam ? There currently is no right answer. Both party have right arguments but it will all be answered when it is viewed to the world.
