From 1985 to present day, windows operating system has been the popular among people from different ages. It has dominated the computer world by more than 75 prrcent. Today we will overview the windows operating system family in historical order to see what made them so popular.
Windows 1.0 – On November 20, 1985 , the first windows os was initially released. It is based on the MS-DOS.In MS-DOS, you had to input commands to execute programs or file, but windows 1.0 allowed user visual multitask click and point interaction to access the windows.
Windows 2.0 – After 2 years of Windows 1.0 arrival, we got a new windows on December 9, 1987 with improved graphics support, keyboard shortcut and desktop icons. This os was made to be used on intel 286 processor
Windows 3.0 – Windows 3.0 was released in May 22, 1900 with better graphics, icons and performance. This version gave the first ” look and feel ” of windows which were to come in near futures. This windows supported 16 color which was designed for intel 386 processors. It also came packed with File Manager, Print Manager, Program Manager, Games like Hearts, Minesweeper and Solitaire.
Windows NT 3.1 to 4 – After windows 3.1, Microsoft released Windows NT 3.1 which had two version. One for server and the other for worksation. This windows was called the first NT or New Technology because it was a 33 bit os that supported preemptime multitasking.
